Some have contributed greatly to my understanding of the Unix (Linux) way. Of these books, most are available in hard copy but a few are available in some downloadable form or as both hard copy and downloadable. More and more are being converted into ebook formats of various types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Unix and Linux Philosophy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eric Raymond: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Art of Unix Programming<\/em><\/span>; <a title=\"The Art of Unix Programming\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.catb.org\/~esr\/writings\/taoup\/html\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.catb.org\/~esr\/writings\/taoup\/html\/index.html<\/a> Eric Raymond, who has been around since the very early days of Unix, has written a very important book, <a title=\"Eric S. Raymond: The Art of Unix Programming\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.catb.org\/%7Eesr\/writings\/taoup\/html\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Art of Unix Programming<\/a>, which contains a great deal of the history of Unix.
